JigsawJoy is a free browser jigsaw puzzle game designed for phones and tablets. You don't need to download anything — open the page and start solving immediately. Your progress is automatically saved every time you move a piece, so you can close the tab and come right back where you left off.
To get started, choose a category — Nature & Scenery, Seas & Lakes, Flowers & Gardens, Animals, Cities & Lights, Architecture, Food & Treats, Patterns & Abstract, Travel & Roads, or Calm & Cozy. Each category has up to 60 pictures sourced from the free Lorem Picsum photo service. Pick an image that appeals to you, then choose how many pieces you want.
On phone or tablet: Drag pieces with one finger. Use two fingers to pinch and zoom the board, or pan around. Tap a piece in the tray at the bottom of the screen to fly it onto the board. Double-tap the board to fit the whole puzzle on screen.
On desktop: Click and drag pieces with the mouse. Scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. Click and drag on empty board space to pan. Double-click the board to fit the puzzle on screen.
Tap the Edges ⬜ button in the tray to filter to just the border pieces — experienced puzzlers almost always start with the frame. Use Sort 🎨 to group pieces by colour, making it much easier to find the right piece for a section. Tap and hold the thumbnail in the top-right corner to enlarge the reference picture so you can study the detail. Use the Ghost 👁 button to show a faint version of the complete picture on the board as a placement guide.
Every single piece move, snap, and camera change is saved to your browser's local storage. When you reopen JigsawJoy you'll see a Continue card on the home screen. Tap it to resume instantly — the exact board layout, zoom level, and timer are restored. Your puzzle is never lost.
All buttons are at least 44×44 pixels for comfortable finger tapping. Snap tolerance is deliberately generous — pieces don't require pixel-perfect placement. There is no timer pressure and no fail state. Sound and haptic feedback are independently toggleable in settings; play silently in bed without missing any functionality. The game respects your device's reduce-motion preference.

Yes. JigsawJoy is designed mobile-first and works great on iPad. On a larger screen the piece tray docks to the right side for easier access.
Images are provided by the Lorem Picsum service (picsum.photos), which offers free placeholder photos with MIT-style licensing. No photo subject guarantees are made — categories reflect mood and style.
After your first visit, the game shell loads instantly. Images are fetched from picsum.photos and may be browser-cached. If a picture can't load, JigsawJoy falls back to a generated abstract design so you can always keep playing.
